End of the Year Post

By far and away the most ambitious project I have taken on in a LONG time has been my Jacobite Rebellion armies. Over the course of 18 months I have purchased, painted, and based over 1,400 figures. Seven buildings have been added along with several feet of scratch-built stone walls. I started with hand-painted flags for each regiment but wasn't satisfied with the result, so I purchased scores of flags from Flags of War. It was a bit pricey, but I am very glad that I did as they take the collection to new heights. Along with the figures, I developed a set of rules to game with. Some former students have been most helpful in play testing them with me. We are well pleased with them and have enjoyed several games using them. Thanks so much Chris, James and Max. I was able to get most of the figures on to the table, however the bulk of the casualty figures and some of the general officers remained in their respective boxes. So here they are, 434 Jacobites with four guns and a stand of mortars, 112 French infantry with two guns and 36 cavalry with 14 dismounted figures. On the Government side are 480 infantry, 48 cavalry with 32 dismounted dragoons, four guns and a stand of mortars and 88 Dutch infantry. Every regiment in my collection has two casualty stands to go with it.
