Take The Blockhouse! AWI Sharp Practice Game Turn 1

I pulled out my AWI collection of Sharp Practice figures for a solo game. I really enjoy this group of figures. I have a great variety of groups available, and a few nice terrain pieces to add some depth.

This particular scenario is built around a blockhouse in the middle to the table. It is garrisoned by Lt. Smithers and two groups of light infantry.

The two opposing sides have entry points at opposite ends of the table. The American force is 145 points strong and led by Major Josiah Thompson. His mission is to make sure the vital blockhouse does not fall. His adversary is Colonel Horatio Slaughter who commands an army of 150 points. His combined force of Indians, Hessians, British regulars and loyalists is confident of victory.

The Americans are starting with a morale of 11, the King's forces have one of 9.

The first turn saw just about all of Slaughter's units get on to the table. Thompson only got about half of his men onto the field.

The morale for both sides.

The entry point of His Majesty's forces.

The British Grenadiers lead the way!

The Indians and loyalists use a 2nd deployment point to enter.
The blockhouse that controls this vital road junction.

Lt. Jacobs' two groups march in column towards the blockhouse.

Three groups of militia and a group of riflemen.

Slaughter's main force poised for the offensive.

Black Feather's braves will attempt to disrupt the American advance.

Smithers' men inside the blockhouse. Pretty cool!
The second group on the first floor.

I will get back at this later in the week. I will post accounts of turns as I complete them.
